Defenseman Cory Murphy cleared waivers today and was assigned to the Devils’ AHL affiliate in Lowell. Also, Lowell signed Dean McAmmond to an AHL contract today. McAmmond, 36, split last season with Ottawa & the NY Islanders and played for Albany (which was the Devs’ affiliate) during the 2004-05 lockout.
